Teresita Gutierrez delivered Turlock’s first baby of the year for 2024. She has three older children, 17 and 15-year-old sons and a 13-year-old daughter. She says this baby was a surprise blessing and the whole family is very excited and delighted. Teresita worked full-time with her husband pressure washing and quit just before she found out she was pregnant so she could pursue her dream of opening a catering and cake making business, Melanie Cakes and Catering, named for her 13-year-old daughter. She has been making cakes for family and friends for years before getting her business off the ground. She never expected to have the New Year’s baby this year and came in Sunday night about 8:30 p.m., but wasn’t making any progress and was almost sent home when her water suddenly broke about 10:15 p.m. She she still wasn’t making a lot of progress until about 2 p.m. on New Year’s Day. The doctor decided it was safer to do a cesarean section. Leylani Gutierrez made her appearance at 2:52 pm New Year’s Day at Emanuel Medical Center. She weighed 10-pounds, 3.3 ounces and was 21.6 inches long. This beautiful baby is loved & cherished by her whole family.
