Before the gates of the Stanislaus County Fair open for the 10-day run of festivities, the fair will be doing a little horsing around.
Pre-Fair horse events begin at 7:30 a.m. June 21 in the FoodMaxx Arena at the fairgrounds in Turlock and will continue through June 25.
“Horses are a familiar symbol of the Stanislaus County Fair.” said Carl Richter, Horse Department Superintendent. “The 4-H, FFA, and open horse exhibitors have been a tradition that continues to keep our community connected with our fair.”
The schedule of events are:
June 21
Cutting 7:30 a.m.
Open Cattle Class 6:30 p.m.
June 22
4-H/FFA English 7:30 a.m.
Open Carriage Driving 6:30 PM
June 23
4-H/FFA Showmanship 7:30 AM followed by 4-H/FFA Western
Quadrille 6:30 p.m.
June 24
4-H/FFA Gymkhana 7:30 a.m.
June 25
Open Gymkhana 6:30 p.m.
Admission is free to the horse events.
The 2015 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 10 and runs through July 19. Discounted fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the fair season pass are now on sale through 7 p.m. July 9. Visit the fair’s website for upcoming ticket sale information at www.stancofair.com.
