History of business:

Looking for a bargain? There seem to be plenty in Turlock, you just need to do a little bit of digging – at times quite literally.

Within the same warehouse space at 460 N. Kilroy Rd., somewhat hidden behind the Regal Cinemas shopping center, are Falling Prices and BidRL, two businesses that opened last year offering discounted deals on everything from small knick-knacks to appliances.

BidRL has 34 locations nationwide with 30 in California. The company specializes in selling assets via online auctions through their website, www.bidrl.com/affiliate/turlock-19. Items featured on the online marketplace could be overstocks or returns, new or used, perfect or broken. The company features photos and descriptions of each item and doesn’t accept returns, exchanges or offer refunds. If an auction is won, you head to the warehouse to pick it up.

For those who love more of an in-person experience, you can walk in the doors of Falling Prices and get to searching. Including their Turlock location, there are 19 Falling Prices stores across California.

In the warehouse, there are shelves lining the walls and multiple bins throughout the space filled to the brim with random items. Like BidRL, the items in the bins are overstock products from retail locations, returned goods and damaged products, such as opened Amazon orders.

The name, Falling Prices, represents the unique concept of the store, where prices fall each day until all items are sold. On Tuesdays, all items are $6. On Wednesdays, the price for everything drops to $4. Thursdays, prices are slashed again to $2. On Fridays they drop to $1, and anything remaining on the last day of their week, Saturday, is just $0.25. Each week, the store is filled with a different assortment of items.

Unlike BidRL where you can browse the inventory online, you have to walk into Falling Prices yourself to see what’s available.

“We never know what will be in the stores each Tuesday. It could be electronics, small appliances, food, baby items, pet supplies, automotive, office supplies, home goods, paper products, cleaning supplies, small furniture and more,” the company said.
