Emanuel nurse named to Tenet Heroes’ Hall of Fame

The leadership team at Emanuel Medical Center announced that Brooke Gray, RN, the Director of the Surgical Floor and Oncology/Dialysis at EMC, has been honored with the title of Tenet Hero and earned the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame as part of Tenet’s annual recognition program.

The Tenet Heroes’ program is an opportunity for colleagues and leadership to recognize team members who truly go above and beyond their daily responsibilities. Tenet Heroes exemplify Tenet’s values, embody the power of hope for both patients and colleagues, and celebrates those that are committed to delivering quality, compassionate care in the communities served by Tenet care centers.

Moreover, each year, only a select few are chosen to be honored as part of the Tenet Heroes’ Hall of Fame, the Company’s most prestigious honor for employees. This year, 25 individuals or teams were named to the Hall of Fame, including Gray. For context of how elite this honor is, Tenet has 52 hospitals and over 600 care centers nationwide.

Nominated by leadership and/or fellow team members, Tenet Heroes are well-respected and admired by their colleagues and peers. Gray’s nomination said that she enthusiastically supports others across units, while always putting patient care first. It further shared that she leads by example and encouragement, whether starting a book club or coordinating complex cases. The honor for her service with the Surgical Floor unit is a testament to her dedication: 18 years ago, Gray started at EMC on the Surgical Floor as an extern.
