Central Valley Doctors Health System announced that Michael “Mike” Klepin will become the new Chief Executive Officer of Emanuel Medical Center, effective Nov. 4. Klepin will replace Dr. Murali Naidu, who will become the new CEO of another Tenet Health facility, San Ramon Regional Medical Center.

“Mike is a dynamic, experienced leader and has a track record of driving improvements, fostering strong relationships with physicians and medical staff, and building programs that expand and advance available healthcare services,” said Jay Krishnaswamy, CEO of Central Valley Doctors Health System. “We are happy for Dr. Naidu and his new opportunity and will assuredly miss him. He has been an effective and strategic leader that helped navigate both Doctors Hospital of Manteca and EMC through the pandemic and numerous challenges.”

Klepin comes to EMC from St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, Texas, where he has been the CEO for the past two years. Prior to that, Klepin served as the CEO of Southern California Hospital at Culver City, California, from 2018-2022.

“I am very impressed with the depth and breadth of care at Emanuel Medical Center. From the EMC Cancer Center with Stanford to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emanuel is a tremendous asset to the region,” said Klepin. “A hallmark of Emanuel is the personal warmth of the teams and how they are a part of the fabric of the community. It is inspiring and I am eager to help lead EMC to the next level.”

Naidu, who started in Manteca in 2020, said, “it is always hard to leave because of the people, and that is certainly true with EMC and Turlock. The teams here are truly focused on caring, empathy, and their incredible skill and knowledge enable the daily miracles that occur at Emanuel. There is no doubt that my time here will always hold a special place in my heart. It has been a true honor to be a part of this community built on care.”

Originally from Ohio, Klepin received his Bachelor of Science in business administration from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and his Master of Science in Public Health Administration from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio.
