Three weeks ago, Turlock’s Jessica Hostetter took her baking skills and love of cheesecake to officially launch her new business, Sweet Cheeks Cheesecakes. While the business is still new, she is already busy fulfilling orders from multiple customers.

Hostetter began baking three years ago and explained why she chose to focus on the cheesecakes over any other type of baked good.

“I have a love for cooking and wanted to branch out my skills,” she said. “Cheesecake is one of my all-time favorite desserts, as well as most of my family and friends, so I started making them and I just fell in love with baking them. I love the simplicity, yet versatility of cheesecakes.”

With three weeks under her belt, Hostetter is confident in saying that the strawberry swirl cheesecake is by far her most popular item. She said that it is a cheesecake with strawberry puree swirled in and baked in a graham cracker crust topped with homemade whipped cream, fresh strawberry slices and strawberry drizzle.

Her second most popular flavor is currently the caramel mocha latte Oreo cheesecake, which is a classic cheesecake on a caramel mocha latte Oreo crust and topped with homemade coffee-infused whipped cream, caramel and chocolate drizzle.

As this is just the first month of operation, Hostetter is confident that as time progresses and as more people try her cheesecakes, Sweet Cheeks will become a lucrative and successful small business.
