The Assassin’s Creed has been one of the most popular video game series in the world for nearly two decades, selling more than 200 million digital and physical copies since its 2007 launch. One man that has been a part of the series since the beginning has been Philip Shahbaz, the former Turlock resident who has become known for voicing the character of Altair Ibn-LaAhad.

On Saturday from noon to 3 p.m., Shahbaz will be hosting a meet-and-greet at Turlock Comics on 2717 Geer Road. The actor — who has also appeared on shows like “24,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “SEAL Team,” “NCIS” and “Bosch Legacy” — will be signing 8x10 photos for $20 and personalized items like Assassin’s Creed collectibles, posters, video games and trading cards for $30. Additionally, there will be a very limited amount of large Altair Funko POPS for sale with signatures for $70.

“Now, I was born in Chicago, but I grew up in Turlock. It's home for me,” Shahbaz said in an Instagram video. “This is the first time I'm going to come home and hang with fans and sign.”

The event is just one of the many celebrity meet-and-greet recently hosted by Turlock Comics, which is owned by armed service veterans Joey Aiello and Kyle Turner. The duo opened the hobby shop in June 2022.

In March, the shop hosted famed “Hulk” actor Lou Ferrigno. In May, actor Jason Faunt, who played the Red Time Force Power Ranger, met fans at the shop. In June, two other Power Rangers, actress Michael Copon and Dan Southworth, held meet-and-greets at the shop.
