Annual Business Women’s Symposium aims to foster personal and professional growth
Business Women's Symposium

The Business Women’s Symposium, hosted by the Valley Sierra Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is back for its ninth year, aiming to empower local businesswomen by offering opportunities to learn, inspire, and network with like-minded individuals from throughout Stanislaus County.

Like in previous years, the Business Women’s Symposium, slated for 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 20, will take place at the Greens on Tenth event venue at 953 10th St. in Modesto. Doors will open at 8:15 a.m., with networking time starting at 8:30 a.m. before the presentations get underway at 9 a.m. Tickets cost $35 and include breakfast and an opportunity to win a raffle prize. There are limited seats.

According to the SBDC, citing the 2021 US Census, women make up over 50.4% of Stanislaus County’s population. Many businesses are managed, owned and operated by women. The event hopes to provide entrepreneurial women with the resources and strategies needed to “accelerate their impact and strengthen their leadership presence within their organizations.”

“This event encompasses empowerment, bringing together extraordinary women to share knowledge, connect, and build meaningful relationships,” said SBDC Marketing Coordinator Brianna Taylor.

Serving as emcee of the symposium will be Jessica Chang Irish, while speakers will be Ann Endsley and Jamie Griswold.

Chang Irish is an Emmy-winning television news reporter. Endsley is the owner of Greens on Tenth and will be the keynote speaker. Griswold is the owner of Culture Coffee Bar at 2801 McHenry Avenue in Modesto.
