Turlock Gospel Mission’s efforts to host their first Thanksgiving dinner at the home of the forthcoming year-round shelter got a big boost Wednesday when AAA donated more than 300 pounds of turkeys to the organization.
The turkeys were delivered on the back of one of AAA’s City Tow trucks, driven by station owner Jeremy Madruga.
Throughout the holiday season, AAA will deliver over 10 tons of turkeys to more than 80 Northern California, Nevada and Utah non-profits.
TGM’s Thanksgiving Day meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at 437 Broadway.
TGM is in need of food and supplies for the dinner and is also seeking volunteers to help prepare and serve the meals.
Anyone interested in donating an item or volunteering that day can call the TGM’s Homeless Assistance Ministry at 656-1033.
