Melon Carnival 1

— Turlock Melon Carnival: The Turlock Melon Carnival will make a return to town Friday and Saturday. Activities begin at 6 p.m. Friday in downtown Turlock with the Miss Melon Pageant, live music and food. The Kiddie Kaper Parade will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, following by a variety of melon-themed events. For more information, visit www.turlockmeloncarnival.com.

— Home Improvement Show: The Modesto Fall Home Improvement Show will be held Friday through Sunday at the Modesto Centre Plaza, 1001 K St. Admission is $8 for general, $6 for seniors and veterans and kids under 18 are free. — Opera Modesto: Disguises, mistaken identities, and a lot of hiding in (and under) things abound in resident company Opera Modesto's production of Mozart’s comedy “The Marriage of Figaro.” The opera will be sung in Italian, with simultaneous English translation projections. — Greek Food Festival: The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual Greek Food Festival from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at 313 Tokay Ave., Modesto. Dine-in or take out an authentic Greek dinner. There will also be homemade pastries for sale, church tours, a marketplace and live entertainment. Tickets are $22 at the door. — Nikki Glaser: For nearly two decades at clubs across the country, and as the host of three hit podcasts, Nikki Glaser has honed her shockingly honest, no-holds barred style of comedy.
