Assyrian festival

— Family Friday: The Carnegie Arts Center will host its next Family Friday event at 7 p.m. Friday.  Inspired by the Carnegie’s upcoming exhibition “Reclaimed: The Art of Recology” participants will use recyclable materials to build a city. This event is free and open to the public. The Carnegie is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock.

— Assyrian Festival: The annual Assyrian Festival will once again celebrate its rich traditions at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. The 2024 Assyrian Festival, set for Saturday and Sunday, will feature games and educational projects for kids as well as live Assyrian cultural music, exhibits, traditional Assyrian food, and the Assyrian dance groups. Denair Farm and Family Festival

— Farm & Family Festival: The Denair Farm and Family Festival will be back for its 14th year on Saturday in downtown Denair. The festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. with the popular parade, which will feature about 20 vintage tractors and other types of farm equipment. Numerous events, like a watermelon eating contest, a milk chugging competition, pedal tractor races, and homemade ice cream workshops will take place.

— Film Series: The Carnegie Arts Center will show five contemporary, full-length animated feature films this season as part of its Animated Film Series. The series will open with its first screening, “WALL-E,” at 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission to the CAC Animation Film Series is free thanks to funding from the City of Turlock Community Events & Activities Fund. The Carnegies is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock. — Oktoberfest: Dust Bowl Brewing Co. in Turlock will present Oktoberfest 2024 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $75: guests (21+ years, must show valid ID upon check-in) and include .5 liter glass stein, two 16oz. beer pours, tickets for your choice of food, live music by Makin' Noise, special entertainment, 360 video booth, stein hold and costume contests with prizes, and more.
