Artist reception: The Carnegie Arts Center will host a free reception celebrating the opening of “Project Space: Valley Voices” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 10. This pop-up exhibition features works by four central valley printmakers: Christopher Garcia, Magdalena Gonzales Lomeli, Ruben Sanchez and Marisa Segovia. The Carnegie is located at 250 N. Film Series: The Carnegie Arts Center will host a free viewing of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 11. The superhero movie is the next film in Carnegie’s Animated Film Series. There will be a free art activity prior to the movie. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Concessions will be available. Tribute Concert: Eric Barnett, lead guitarist of the band Points North, will bring together veteran artists from legendary rock bands to honor guitarist and musician Jeff Beck with a show on Jan. 11 at The State Theatre in downtown Modesto. Current and former members of Steve Vai Band, Joe Satriani Band, Jefferson Starship, Y&T, Tower of Power and more will be hitting the stage.
