Trick or Treat

Family Fun Night: The City of Turlock will host a Monster Madness Family Fun Night at 6 p.m. Friday at the Turlock Regional Sports Complex, 4545 N. Kilroy Rd., behind Pitman High School. Bring your picnics, blankets, low chairs, mosquito repellent, and flashlights. Gates will be open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie “Monsters, Inc.” will start at sundown. There will also be concessions available for purchase.

Saturday Studio: The Carnegie Arts Center will host a monster mash themed Saturday Studio activity on Saturday. Families can drop in anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to get creative and make spooky monsters out of recyclable materials. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $5 per maker. The Carnegie is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock. For more information, visit: carnegieartsturlock.org.

Halloween Fun Run: Looking to get into the Halloween spirit while staying active? Stanislaus State is launching its inaugural Halloween Fun Run starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, sponsored by Dust Bowl Brewing, Kiwanis of Greater Turlock and the Turlock Rotary.  The 5k and pond run across the Turlock campus will consist of folks dressed in costumes to benefit the Stan State Athletics Scholarship Fund. Those of all ages can participate — adults for $30 and children for $20. Those interested in participating can register at https://csustan.hometownticketing.com/embed/event/319

Downtown Turlock Trick-or-Treat: Downtown Turlock’s annual Trick-or-Treat event will return for another year from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Community members are encouraged to bring the kids out to visit downtown shops for candy, face painting, a bounce house and a soft play area for the littles, pictures with Skeleton Mickey, a photo booth and more.

FUMC Trunk-or-Treat: The First United Methodist Church at 1660 Arbor Way is looking to give more than just candy to the kids this fall. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, the church will be hosting a Trunk-or-Treat as part of its “Do Unto Others” campaign. Though there is no admission price for the event that features free food, games, face painting, balloon artist and, of course, candy, attendees can bring canned food items to benefit the holiday efforts of Turlock Together.
