There is a new face in charge of Stanislaus County’s financial accounting and auditing this week.

On Wednesday, the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors conducted the swearing-in ceremony for Mandip Dhillon, CPA, officially appointing him as Stanislaus County Auditor-Controller. Dhillon will fill the role left by former Auditor-Controller Kashmir Gill upon her retirement, prior to the completion of her term.

Dhillon was appointed by the Board on Oct. 1. His term is effective Oct. 9 through Jan. 4, 2027.

"I am honored to be the next Auditor-Controller of Stanislaus County. With a strong commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility, my goal is to strengthen accountability and integrity in our financial processes, ensuring that every dollar spent is meticulously tracked," Dhillon said in a statement.

Wednesday’s ceremony was officiated by Vice Chairman Buck Condit.

"Mandip Dhillon has been an invaluable asset to Stanislaus County for over two decades, and his expertise in both finance and leadership is exactly what we want in the Auditor-Controller’s office. I look forward to seeing the positive impact he'll continue to make," Condit said.

As Condit alluded to, Dhillon has worked in various County departments, including Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, the Chief Executive Office and currently serves as the assistant director of Environmental Resources. His academic credentials include a magna cum laude bachelor’s degree in accounting from Stanislaus State, complemented by his ongoing certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and membership on the Stanislaus County Employees’ Retirement Association (StanCERA) Board.

The appointment process, initiated on Aug. 20, saw the Board approve a comprehensive recruitment strategy overseen by the Chief Executive Officer Jody Hayes, with guidance from an ad hoc committee comprising Chairman Mani Grewal of District 4 and District 3 Supervisor Terry Withrow. Following a thorough evaluation, the ad hoc committee recommended Dhillon for the appointment.
