Your ‘trash’ could be another man’s ‘treasure’! Do you have items that no longer serve you, but might be of use to someone else? If you do not want, or do not have the means, to load-up and transport items to a recycling center, visit freecycle.org to post your item(s) and people can pick them up directly from you.
Be sure to dispose of potentially hazardous household materials such as paint thinners, used batteries, broken computers and cell phones to proper recycling centers. In addition to Stanislaus County’s Household Hazardous Waste disposal location at 1710 Morgan Rd. in Ceres, you can find other locations near you by visiting search.earth911.com. If items such as these are not disposed of properly, their hazardous chemicals could seep into the ground and contaminate the community’s drinking water.
Help support a green economy! Try buying products that are made from recycled materials. Brought to you by the City of Turlock Municipal Services Department.
