Assemblymember Juan Alanis recognized Erica May Inacio as the Woman of the Year for the 22nd Assembly District on the Assembly Floor this week.
“Erica Inacio is a valued community member,” said Alanis. “Her dedication, work ethic, and unwavering commitment to public service have made a lasting impact, which is why I am proud to present her with this award.”
Born in Merced, Inacio spent the early years of her life in Michoacan, Mexico before returning to the Central Valley at the age of nine. As a first-generation college graduate, she has overcome numerous challenges to become a role model for women everywhere.
Inacio began her career with Stanislaus County in 2002 and has since advanced her passion for public service. Today, she serves as the Deputy Executive Officer at the Stanislaus County Chief Executive Office. In addition to her leadership role, she also leads key initiatives in the community, such as the Crows Landing Industrial Business Park Project and the Stanislaus 2030 Investment Blueprint. She also oversees projects relating to housing, the Commercial Cannabis Program, and efforts to foster belonging and inclusion in the community.
Her contributions have been widely recognized, earning her several prestigious awards, including being named a Heroe Latina by the Legacy Health Endowment, Citizen of the Year by Love Stanislaus, and the Unsung Hero Award by El Concilio.
“I am truly inspired by Erica’s remarkable achievements and the determination she brings to every endeavor,” Alanis said. “It is a privilege to present her with this award, and I have no doubts she will continue to make a great and positive impact on our community.”
