Carnegie to host animated film series
WALL-E
The Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock will host a free viewing of the movie “WALL-E” at 2 p.m. Sept. 14.

The Carnegie Arts Center announced a new addition to its 2024-25 season program offerings. The Arts Center will show five contemporary, full-length animated feature films as part of the CAC Animated Film Series

The series will open with its first screening, “WALL-E,” at 2 p.m. Sept. 14. This will be followed by a different movie every other month: “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on Nov. 9; “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” on Jan. 11; “The Iron Giant” on March 8; and “Turning Red” on May 10.

“We are looking forward to featuring a variety of animation styles and were able to select films that showcase hand-drawn, stop-motion, and computer animation,” said Carnegie Assistant Director Megan Hennes.

For each film screening the doors will open at 1:30p.m. A free, themed art activity will accompany each film. Refreshments will be available for a nominal charge.

In addition to the five animated films the CAC will be hosting a competition for regional artists to submit their own animated short films. These will be screened as the sixth installment of the series on July 12, 2025, as part of the Central Valley Animators Film Festival. More information about the animation competition and the film festival will be available on the CAC’s website in October.

Admission to the CAC Animation Film Series is free thanks to funding from the City of Turlock Community Events & Activities Fund. The Carnegies is located at 250 N. Broadway, Turlock. For more information, visit carnegieartsturlock.org.
