Michael Lewis, best-selling author of “Moneyball,” “The Blind Side” and “The Big Short,” will join UC Merced Chancellor Nathan Brostrom for a conversation on the future of markets at 5 p.m. Jan. 31.
Lewis’ latest bestseller, “The Fifth Risk,” highlights the government agencies and workers who ensure the safety of our food and drugs, predict extreme weather events, and track and locate black market uranium before the terrorists do — and the risks we face by cutting resources to those agencies. He is a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion and a contributing writer to Audible. His articles have also appeared in Vanity Fair, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Gourmet, Slate, Sports Illustrated, Foreign Affairs, and Poetry Magazine.
The event will be held at UC Merced’s Lakireddy Auditorium.
