Turlock High’s 2024 Homecoming Queen candidates were announced at the homecoming dance last Friday. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime of Turlock’s varsity football game against Gregori this Friday at Joe Debely Stadium. Before the game, Turlock High will hold its annual homecoming parade down Main Street in downtown Turlock starting at 3 p.m.
The nominees are:
— Megan Coelho: Activities include flag football and soccer. She has a part time job and does volunteer work for elections. Her senior escort will be Mateo Valencia
— Summer Diaz: Activities include HOSA, HYLC, Key Club. She is currently in a CNA program and has student internships at Golden Bear Physical Therapy Center, Covenant, and with Turlock High’s athletic trainer Tiana. Her senior escort will be Giovanny Valenzuela
— Melina Gonzales: Her activities include FFA, ASB, Kitchens for Change and Art club. She also does babysitting and helps work elections. Her senior escort will be Edgar Silva
— Melly Gonzales: Activities include Cheer, FCCLA, Link Crew, Kitchens for Change and Key Club. Her senior escort will be Joseph Delte.
— Sydney Max: Activities include swim team, FFA, ASB and Kitchens for change. In past years she has participated in volleyball, Varsity Cheer, Young Americans Club, and Link Crew. Her senior escort will be Dylan Fontes.
— Liv Romeo: Activities include Varsity Waterpolo (Captain), Varsity Swim Team, Honor Roll, Young American, Kitchens for Change, Pickleball Club Officer, Block T and ASB. She also volunteers at Jessica’s House. Her senior escort will be Dayne Hart.
— Janell Suarez: Activities include Cheer, ASB, Link Crew, HYLC, HOSA, Interact Club and Kitchens for Change. She’s also a math tutor for younger kids. Her senior escort will be Andrew Sevilla.
— Emma Ward: Activities include Block T, Link Crew, ASB, All American Club, Pickleball Club, Key Club, Kitchens for Change, Track and Honor Roll. Her senior escort will be Bradlee Green.
— Ava Weatherbee: Activities include Color guard and HOSA. She is a dance teacher at Turlock, Denair, and Ceres Parks and Recreation dance classes as well as being a student at Steps Dance Arts Center. Her senior escort will be Aidan Padilla.
