The streets of north Turlock were filled with the sounds of music last Saturday morning as local schools kicked off the band review season with the seventh annual Preview of Champions, hosted by Pitman High School.
The Pitman Preview of Champions is the first event in the Northern California Band Association's fall lineup of band reviews and showcases high school marching bands from throughout the region, including many San Joaquin Valley high schools. The bands are separated into divisions based on the number of students in the group and the groups compete against similarly sized schools.
The Turlock Christian High Marching Eagles placed second in the Division 1A grouping. Turlock High School placed fifth in the overall auxiliary competition.
