Adrenna Alkhas, Ed.D., Stanislaus County Fair marketing and communications director and speech communications instructor at MJC, is the next presenter for Modesto Junior College’s Positive People Speaker Series. The free, public presentation is 7 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Ave., Modesto. Campus parking is available for $2.
Alkhas is going to share about her path from early childhood to attending MJC, and eventually becoming the author of her book “EmpowerHer.” Copies of her book will be available for public purchase, with complimentary books available to MJC students displaying an ID card with a 2019 spring semester sticker.
The speaker series, offered by the MJC Office of Campus Life and Student Learning, features local community members who have overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve their goals. The community is invited to come hear these stories of inspiration and motivation.
The Positive People Speakers Series offers a final spring presentation on March 7 by Sam Pierstorff, professor of English at MJC and former Poet Laureate for the City of Modesto.
