Over 100 Navy Junior Reserve Officers in Training Corps cadets participated in a Military Inspection at Turlock High School on Friday under the direction of Chief Darrin Davis and Commander Carlos Montanez. Retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel Thompson performed the inspection.
He met with the cadets as a group and talked with them one on one.
“I was very pleased with the inspection and with the group as a whole, the way you work together…I hope that whatever your future holds that you can take something from this success and use it,” said Thompson.
NJROTC was started at Turlock High in 2002 by then principal and current TUSD Superintendent Dana Trevethan. The national NJROTC program’s mission is to instill in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.
