Those who wonder what campus life is all about at California State University, Stanislaus can get an inside look during the school’s third annual Warrior Expo.

The free event is open to the public and hopes to bring together prospective and current students, families, friends and esteemed alumni to “celebrate the vibrant Warrior Spirit that defines our community” through family-friendly activities, food and campus tours. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19. On-campus parking will be free.

“Warrior Expo offers a unique opportunity for community members to engage with the campus, learn about our programs and experience the dynamic atmosphere that makes Stan State an anchor of the Central Valley,” said university spokeswoman Donna Birch Trahan.

The university says there will be a bit of something for everybody, from interactive booths to games.

For those curious about the campus, tours will be available to visitors that will allow them to explore the facilities, meet faculty and learn about academics and extracurricular activities.

High school seniors, community college students and their families can also participate in application workshops, where they can bring unofficial transcripts and meet with admissions counselors, available to help first-year freshmen and transfer applicants; bring your unofficial transcripts. University departments will share about programs and student support services.

“Warrior Expo is more than just an event—it’s an invitation to see firsthand what makes Stan State a thriving hub of education, community and Warrior Spirit. We hope to welcome as many community members as possible, ensuring everyone has a chance to connect with and benefit from all that Stan State has to offer… We look forward to welcoming the community to campus and showcasing all that Stan State has to offer.”

The event and its promotion of Stan State academics comes at a critical time for the institution. It recently surpassed a goal of 2% new enrollment for both undergraduate and graduate students last school year, but enrollment remains low. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, enrollment was hovering around 11,000 students, according to institutional data. At the start of the academic year last fall, there were 9,291 students enrolled.
