The Turlock High School modernization project will soon get underway, as the Board of Trustees recently approved the total sublease amount agreement with contractor J. L. Bray & Son, Inc.

The project, which will cost over $12 million, includes the complete renovation of seven classrooms in Turlock High’s H wing — a foods classroom, culinary arts, child development, four special education classrooms and new offices for auxiliary services.  In Building F, the THS Cafeteria will be completely renovated, including but not limited to the kitchen, dining, new auxiliary serving stations, restrooms and exterior. The contract states the project will be completed no later than May 31, 2026.

The project will be funded through Measure O, state matching funding and the California Career Technical Education Incentive Grant.

Measure O was approved by voters in 2016, along with Measure N. The focus of the two bonds, a $40.8 million elementary bond measure and a $48 million district wide bond measure, was to address critical educational and facility needs throughout the district, including safety improvements, modernization of facilities, updated and improved facilities for Science Technology Engineering Mathematics programs and renovations to the Turlock High Science wing.

“We are excited to see these 50-year-old buildings get a glow up,” posted TUSD about the project on its social media sites.
