A 45-year-old woman is recovering from two gunshot wounds she suffered in a home-invasion robbery that occurred just west of Turlock Saturday night.

The woman remains in critical but stable condition after being shot twice in her upper body, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The shooting and robbery were reported to the sheriff’s department around 12:30 a.m. from a residence in the 1000 block of W. Fulkerth Road.

The victim, a second woman and a child were at the home when three Hispanic men approached the home and asked to see a resident, who was not present at the time.

The sheriff’s department reported that one of the men fired a gun through a window and the bullet struck the 45-year-old woman.

The two women and the child ran and locked themselves inside a bedroom. Another shot was fired and it passed through the door and struck the same woman.

The three suspects ransacked the home, but it was unknown if anything was taken.

There was no suspect description or vehicle information released.
