A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary after she was caught breaking into Jessica’s House on Wednesday.
The woman was identified as Amber Ledezma and she was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on a single charge of burglary.
Jessica’s House, at 741 E. Main St., is a non-profit organization that aids children as they go through the grieving process after losing someone close to them.
According to the Turlock Police Department, Ledezma was seen by witnesses trying to enter into the building around 5:02 p.m. Wednesday. The witnesses said she was trying the doors and windows, which set off the alarm.
One witness saw Ledezma enter the business through a side door, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
Officers responded to the scene and caught Ledezma as she was leaving the building.
Four days prior, Ledezma had been arrested for being under the influence of narcotics after she was found in a garage in the 400 block of E. Glenwood Avenue.
