Two traffic stops in two hours led to the seizure of two guns and two arrests by the Turlock Police Department Saturday night.
The first arrest occurred at 7:47 p.m. in the 200 block of W. Olive Avenue, where Rene Luna, 29, was stopped and arrested for driving with a suspended license.
During a search of the vehicle, a loaded 9mm handgun was found and Luna was given an additional charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the police report.
Later that night, at 9:34 p.m., Ricardo Mendoza, 20, was stopped for speeding near the intersection of Grant and Julian streets.
A search of Mendoza turned up brass knuckles and a loaded magazine for a 9mm handgun.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a 9mm Smith and Wesson. Mendoza was charged with possession of a concealed weapon.
