A 29-year-old Turlock woman driving a stolen vehicle was arrested Saturday evening at the end of a police pursuit.

At approximately 7:19 p.m., Ceres Police Officers Hector Pulido and Isaac Carter were conducting traffic enforcement near Moffett Road and Acorn Lane when they watched a 2024 Toyota Camry run a posted stop sign. The officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as 29-year-old Aleigha Freitas from Turlock, failed to yield and sped off, leading to a vehicle pursuit.

The pursuit traveled through local streets and ended in the 1500 block of Lynley Drive where Freitas stopped, jumped out and began to run off. Officer Pulido chased after her and arrested Freitas.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the Toyota Camry had been reported stolen to the Hayward Police Department. Freitas was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
