A week that saw teenagers celebrating graduations across the city ended in tragedy when Turlock Police detectives were called out Friday night to investigate the death of a 17-year-old who was fatally stabbed leaving a party.
The deceased was identified as Dylan Ray Dooling, 17, of Turlock. He had graduated from Pitman High School on Thursday.
The teenager had been at a house party in the 2000 block of N. Daubenberger Road Friday night. According to witness accounts, the teenager was confronted by a group of males as he was leaving the party. A physical fight broke out and someone in the group stabbed the 17-year-old and then the group of suspects fled the scene.
The first officers arrived at 10:46 p.m. and found the wounded teenager on the sidewalk. The officers immediately began to administer first aid and CPR until Turlock Fire Department and AMR personnel arrived on scene.
He was transported to a local area hospital where medical staff continued to provide medical care in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, the injuries suffered were too severe and he died as a result of the injuries at 11:40 p.m.
Witnesses describe the suspects as males, in their teens to early twenties, and White or Hispanic.
Jessica Fuller, a friend of Dylan’s family has organized a GoFundMe account for the family. She said Dylan was planning on attending Modesto Junior College in the fall.
“He loved his big family and enjoyed hanging out with his cousins,” Fuller wrote on the GoFundMe account. “Dylan could put a smile on anyone’s face with his silly humor and infectious laugh.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, the account had 312 donations, totaling $20,580.
