Two Turlock men were arrested in Livingston after being found with counterfeit money and stolen property, the Livingston Police Department reported.
Harmjot Singh, 22, and Jagjeet Brar, 29, were both charged with burglary, conspiracy, forgery, narcotic possession and possession of stolen property, following their arrest on Saturday.
The incident began around 7 p.m. Saturday when a police officer spotted a vehicle on Sunrise Court that matched the description of a vehicle seen at a burglary scene earlier that day in Livingston. A witness had said the vehicle had a broken front window.
Brar was on probation in Stanislaus County and as such the vehicle was searchable. Officers found narcotics, counterfeit $100 bills, items reported stolen from the home burglary earlier that days and clothing with tags still on it from Old Navy. The clothing matched items stolen from the Old Navy in Turlock. Also inside the vehicle was a printer, a stolen check and copies of the stolen check.
A witness to the burglary had seen a man knocking on the door and then leaving a short time later with property. The witness identified Brar as the suspect.
The stolen property was returned to the homeowner.
