A Turlock man was killed in a solo vehicle collision Monday morning in Modesto.

The deceased was identified as Francisco Perez, 42, of Turlock.

The collision was reported at 2:40 a.m. Monday on Standiford Avenue.

Perez had been driving a small GMC pickup on Standiford, between Sisk and Dale roads. For an unknown reason, he allowed the vehicle to go off the north side of the road where it collided with a tree.

The initial report said Perez was trapped inside the truck, according to the Modesto Fire Department.

Perez was pronounced deceased at the scene.

It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
