The Turlock Police Department reported 462 calls from Feb. 14 to Feb. 17. They received 344 calls for service and reported 118 officer-initiated calls. The department took 50 reports and responded to 10 traffic collisions. There were 20 arrests.
PATROL SUPERVISOR REPORTS
FRIDAY: Officers made multiple vehicle stops in the morning of the day shift and issued citations. Officers assisted code enforcement with a city-wide cleanup of trash. During this the Neighborhood Resource Officer and sergeant made multiple contacts with subjects violating the Municipal Code. Later in the shift calls for service increased keeping officers busy. Day shift reports included a warrant arrest, larceny, civil report, mentally ill person, city ordinance and a missing person.
Calls were steady throughout the swing shift hours. Swing shift reports included a mentally ill person, a theft, an assault and battery, five traffic accidents, one resisting arrest, a violation of court order and lost property.
The graveyard shift was slower than normal for a Friday night. Officers contacted a man who was too intoxicated to care for himself in public. He was arrested and booked into jail for public intoxication. Officers investigated an early morning domestic violence incident. Through the investigation the suspect was arrested for assaulting the victim resulting in injury. She was booked into jail. Along with the public intoxication and domestic battery reports, graveyard shift also had a burglary report.
SATURDAY: Day shift officers made 13 traffic stops and issued citations. Officers also assisted with traffic control for a large gas leak on a major roadway within the city. Officers located a stolen vehicle that was unoccupied and recovered it. Calls for service were steady, however, most of them did not require a report.
Swing shift saw a typical Saturday as it relates to calls for service, they were steady for most of the shift. Numerous calls for service required officers to break from calls to assist higher priority calls at times. Although swing shift only completed 7 report calls, it was a busy shift. One vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of two individuals who each held multiple warrants for their arrest. They were ultimately booked into County Jail. Swing shift reports included one traffic offense, one suicidal person, one weapon offense, a fraud, two warrant arrests and an assault and battery.
Graveyard shift was slower than normal for a Saturday night. Officers responded to several calls for service throughout the night, including one domestic disturbance.
SUNDAY: Calls for service were steady throughout the day shift. Eleven reports were completed over the course of the day shift, including three thefts, two warrant arrests, two traffic offenses, a narcotics possession, one call for disturbing phone calls, a suicidal person and one juvenile runaway.
During swing shift, a local business reported a theft in-progress where the suspect was actively concealing merchandise. Officers quickly responded to the scene and began communicating with loss prevention. The suspect and another subject involved in the thefts were located and arrested without incident. They were both ultimately booked into County jail as they also held active warrants for their arrest. Swing shift also responded to a warrant arrest, a verbal disturbance, and a suicidal person.
It was steady throughout the graveyard shift. Officers contacted a subject and learned he had warrants. He was arrested and issued a citation. Officers later contacted another subject who also had warrants. Due to the type of warrant, he was arrested and booked into jail. Graveyard shift also responded to a sex offense report.
