A commitment to public service and the heroics of the Turlock Police Department were celebrated Monday at their annual awards ceremony.

Selected as the Officer of the Year was Paul Inderbitzen. Ruth Hoover was honored as the Employee of the Year and Bill and Ruth White were singled out as the Volunteers of the Year.

Lt. Nino Amirfar was presented with the Medal of Distinguished Service.

The department singled out the Criminal Apprehension and Gang Enforcement team for the Excellence Award.
