A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Monday night in Turlock, marking the city’s third homicide for the year and the second time the life of a teenager has been claimed in an act of violence.
The name of the deceased has not been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing and few details have been released at this time.
Around 7:30 p.m. Monday the police department received a report of a person shot in the 300 block of Mitchell Avenue.
Officers responded quickly to the scene and found the victim outside a home with one gunshot wound. Officers began administering CPR until paramedics arrived. The 17-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died from his wound.
The caliber of firearm used in the shooting was not disclosed.
