A head on collision by a suspected drunk driver on Geer Road resulted in two fatalities, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The deceased were identified as Dominique Cardenas, 25, of Turlock and Jesus Hernandez-Perez, 36, of Modesto.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. June 8 on Geer Road, south of E. Grayson Road.

Cardenas was driving a 2013 Lexus southbound on Geer, when she suddenly veered into the northbound lane and into the 1996 Toyota driven by Hernandez-Perez.

Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Both individuals were wearing seatbelts, according to the CHP.

The CHP stated in a news release that “alcohol is expected to be a factor in this crash.”
