Around 10:15 p.m. Sunday the Turlock Police Department responded to the 500 block of Angelus Street for a report of a man hitting vehicles with a board.
The first officer to arrive at the scene say the suspect, later identified as Jose Cisneros, 40, of Turlock, strike vehicles in an alleyway with a large board. The officer repeatedly ordered Cisneros to drop the board, but Cisneros ignored the order and began yelling at the officers at the scene, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.
"After several commands, Cisneros finally dropped the board but continued to walk away in an aggressive manner," Parmley said. "As additional officers arrived on scene, Cisneros lunged at an officer that was inside their patrol vehicle in his path, and then ran at another officer in the roadway."
The officer and Cisneros collided and fell to the ground. While on the ground, Cisneros assaulted the officer, Parmley said.
Cisneros was tased to stop the assault and was then taken into custody. He was booked into Stanislaus County Jail for obstructing/resisting arrest with violence.
