The Turlock Police Department is investigating a robbery in which the robber took money from a convenience store, then let a customer make their purchase and afterwards took that money from the clerk.
The robbery happened at 4:42 a.m. Friday at the Arco AM/PM in the 2200 block of Lander Avenue.
The suspect followed a customer into the store, cloaked in a red bandana, wearing rubber gloves and armed with a gun, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.
“The suspect took currency from the clerk and advised a customer in line to pay for his purchase. The suspect then took that currency as well,” Parmley said.
A witness saw the suspect running westbound on Glenwood Avenue, past the Travelodge, before losing sight of him in the fog. A search was conducted for the suspect, but he was not found.
The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male in his 30s. He stood about 5 feet, 10 inches and weighed about 180 pounds.
