Road rage leads to arrest

An incident of suspected road rage led to the arrest of one man on assault and stalking charges, the Turlock Police Department reported.

At 12:39 p.m. on Dec. 31, the police department received a 911 call reporting a possible road rage incident in the area of N. Golden State Boulevard and Berkeley Avenue.

“The caller reported that an estranged boyfriend was following them and intentionally rammed their vehicle,” said Turlock Police Sgt. Paul Inderbitzen.

The caller also reported hearing what was believed to be a gunshot from the suspect’s vehicle, but no evidence of a gunshot was found, Inderbitzen said.

Officers were able to locate the suspect, identified as Donnell Mays, 48, of Turlock and took him into custody. According to the police report, Mays had been following the victim and intentionally rammed the victim’s vehicle.

Mays was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and stalking.
