Prison sentence for Turlock man torturing kittens
Stanislaus County DA

A 21-year-old Turlock man was sentenced to two years in prison for torturing kittens and setting them on fire, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Joshua Scott, 21, of Turlock was convicted of arson. According to the district attorney’s office, Scott tortured two kittens and set them on fire.

The case was investigated by the Turlock Police Department and the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit. The district attorney’s office said the two agencies conducted further investigations into the case that turned up key evidence, which allowed them to pursue the weightier arson conviction.

Scott will have to register as an arsonist once free from prison.
