A Turlock police officer sustained minor injuries when his patrol vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver on Sunday night.
The collision happened at 11:40 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of South First Street and East Main Street.
The officer was traveling westbound on Main Street when a truck traveling eastbound on Main Street attempted to make a northbound turn onto First Street and collided into the officer’s patrol vehicle, said Turlock Police spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.
The driver, Ryan Crowell, 30 of Valley Springs, was contacted and displayed obvious signs of being under the influence of alcohol. Crowell was arrested and booked for DUI causing bodily injury.
