Tis' the season for porch pirates to be on the prowl, and the Turlock Police Department nabbed two suspects Thursday with purloined packages in their possession.
The images of two individuals — a man and a woman — had been shared on various social media posts as suspects in recent package thefts around Turlock.
Around 4 p.m. Thursday, officers assigned to the Special Investigations Unit spotted a man and woman driving around that matched the images of the two suspects.
The two were in a sports utility vehicle and officers stopped it for vehicle code violations, according to the police department.
Inside the vehicle officers saw packages with addresses from all over the city.
The vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of Donald Cool, 47, on suspicion of theft and driving on a suspended license. Andrea Rubio, 39, was arrested on suspicion of theft and narcotics charges.
Both of the suspects were cited and released, according to the police department.
The packages were stolen from four different residences.
Anyone that may have had a package stolen recently is asked to contact Officer Dominic Hernandez at (209) 668-6541 to make a police report and/or claim your packages.
The police department reminds people to try and schedule deliveries to arrive when you know you will be home, to a neighbor who is home to accept them, or to a delivery locker to ensure they don’t get stolen.
