The Turlock Police Department is investigating a stabbing that sent one man to the hospital with a serious injury.
The stabbing happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 3400 block of W. Monte Vista Avenue.
The police officers to arrive at the scene found the 49-year-old man with potential life-threatening injuries and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Mike Parmley.
The victim and his assailant had been in a verbal fight that escalated into physical violence.
Witnesses to the attack said the victim and the suspect knew one another and they were able to give officers information on the identity of the suspect.
Parmley said the investigation is active and no other details could be released at this time.
