A teenager squatting in a vacant Turlock home was arrested Saturday on allegations he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman.
The 17-year-old boy was taken into custody Saturday by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department after a brief refusal to exit the home, said Sgt. Jon McQueary.
Deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue Saturday morning for a report of a man and woman fighting. McQueary said the caller reported the man (later identified as the 17-year-old) was dragging the woman to the back of the house and that she was trying to fight him off.
Deputies, along with assistance from the Turlock Police Department, surrounded the area shortly after the emergency call was made.
The woman fled the home with the suspect trailing behind her. But he turned around and ran back into the house when he saw all the law enforcement outside, McQueary said.
A K9 unit was brought to the area and sent inside the home, at which point the suspect surrendered.
The 17-year-old was charged with false imprisonment, kidnapping and sexual assault.
