A man who believed someone was taking his photo with a cell phone was arrested on weapon-related charges after brandishing a gun at the person.

The suspect, identified as Kevin Buchan, 58, was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm and possession of a loaded and concealed weapon, according to the Turlock Police Department.

The incident was reported at 8:42 p.m. June 6 at the Motel 6 at 250 S. Walnut Rd.

According to the police report, Buchan believed an individual was taking his photo with a cell phone camera and in response he pointed a gun at the person. In fact, the person was actually just making a phone call, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Neil Cervenka.

The incident was reported to the police department and several officers responded to the scene to take Buchan into custody.
