A Denair man is facing criminal charges after firing multiple gunshots at his neighbor’s home.
The house was occupied at the time, though no injuries were reported, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident was reported to the sheriff’s department early Tuesday morning by the residents in the 5100 block of N. Gratton Road in Denair.
The residents told the sheriff’s deputies that they could hear bullets striking their property.
During the course of the investigation Frank Silva, 58, of Denair was identified as the suspected shooter and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. Detectives also got a search warrant for Silva’s property to search for weapons and any evidence from the early morning shooting.
Around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, detectives conducted a traffic stop on Silva as he was leaving his home and he was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff’s department reported.
The SWAT unit served the search warrant on Silva’s property, where investigators found several firearms.
Silva was booked into Stanislaus County Jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge or a firearm.
