CRIME BRIEFS: Deceased man found in Turlock alleyway
TPD

A deceased man was found in an alley in downtown Turlock on Tuesday, the Turlock Police Department reported.

At 6:12 a.m. Tuesday the police department responded to the 100 block of W. Main Street for a report of a dead body.

“It was an adult male that was displaying obvious signs of death,” said Turlock Police spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.

There were no signs of foul play, Sanchez said.

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took possession of the body.

A cause of death has not been determined at this time.

The name of the deceased has not been released.

Possible case of rabies in family pet

The Turlock Police Department’s animal Control Services was called out for an unconfirmed case of a rabid animal.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, animal services responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Crystal Court after getting a call regarding a vicious cat.

The cat was mainly an indoor cat but had gotten out and had not been seen by the owners for several days, said Turlock Police spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.

When the cat returned it “displayed severe aggression towards the family,” Sanchez said.

While animal services was at the residence, the cat had a medical episode and died. The cat’s body was taken for rabies testing.
