Collision claims life of Turlock man
emergency

An unrestrained 26-year-old Turlock man was killed in a vehicle rollover on Wednesday night.

The same collision injured a 34-year-old Turlock woman, who was also not wearing a seat belt, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deceased was identified as Antonio Valencia-Rangel.

The solo collision happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on Albers Road, south of Milnes Road.

Valencia-Rangel was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Albers at an undetermined speed. For an unknown reason, Valencia-Rangel made a sharp turn, causing the Silverado to serve off the roadway and onto the west shoulder.

The vehicle collided with a dirt embankment and overturned, causing Valencia-Rangel to be partially ejected, according to the CHP.

Valencia-Rangel was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 34-year-old woman sustained major, though non-life-threatening injuries, the CHP reported. She was taken to Memorial Medical Center.

It’s unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
