The Turlock Police Department is investigating a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that resulted in the death of the pedestrian.
Information about the deceased was not released by the police department, other than to say it was a woman.
The collision happened just after 8 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 400 block of Twentieth Century Boulevard.
There was a Turlock police officer in the area and saw the car strike the woman. The police department did not say if she was crossing the street when she was hit.
The officer at the scene immediately began rendering aid. Emergency medical personnel transported the woman to a Modesto area hospital with major injuries.
“Unfortunately, the victim passed away the next morning,” said Turlock Police spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.
The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with the police, Sanchez said. No information about the driver or the vehicle was released.
The investigation is ongoing.
