The Turlock Police Department have arrested two people in connection to the fatal shooting of Ralph Vigil in January.
Vigil, 51, was shot shortly after 10 p.m. Jan. 29 outside the Venice Motel at 1114 N. Golden State Blvd. He was rushed to an area hospital with at least one gunshot wound. The injury proved fatal and Vigil was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Surveillance footage from security cameras at the motel captured some of the incident, which proved helpful in the progress of the investigation.
Investigators were able to determine early on that the suspects were a man and a woman. Detectives served multiple search warrants and the information gained from those searches led to identifying the suspects as Jose Luis Andrade, Jr., 19, and his accessory, Isabel Patricia Pastran, 19, both of Atwater.
Detectives also had information about the vehicle the suspects were believed to be using and that they were likely hiding in the Bay Area.
With the help of the San Francisco Police Department and the California Highway Patrol, Andrade and Pastran were apprehended without incident during a traffic stop in Castro Valley.
Detectives interviewed both suspects as to their involvement in this homicide and they were later booked in the Stanislaus County Jail on Tuesday.
Andrade was arrested on suspicion of murder and Pastran was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the murder.
