Over 7,000 pounds of marijuana processed illegally was seized Thursday morning at a home in the 5100 block of Washington Road just outside of Keyes.
The total estimated street value of product seized exceeds $7 million.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., tactical teams from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department converged on the home, which had been the subject of ongoing illegal narcotics operations. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit obtained a search warrant and entered the property to find processed marijuana packaged for shipment.
No arrests have yet to be made.
The Sheriff’s Department issued a statement after the bust saying: “Our department is committed to eliminating what has become a lucrative black market for illicit marijuana cultivation. The likelihood of violence, environmental contamination, public health hazards and other neighborhood dangers are significant.”
